Louisiana has long been one of the top movie-making locations in the U.S. but has historically come in third for the most popular locale after California and New York. This spring, that all changed. A study released in March by Film L.A., a Los Angeles not for profit organization that coordinates and processes permits for on-location productions, revealed that Louisiana is now officially the birthplace of more films than any other location worldwide! Tax incentives and stunning locations have been drawing more and more film producers to Louisiana in recent years. A mild climate (most of the year) and low cost of living are added incentives that have made it easy and cost-effective to produce movies in the area. So while you're in the city, keep an eye out for those tell-tale yellow signs that let you know a movie set is nearby!
